Our story

LANK Technology is an Austrian outdoor safety equipment brand founded by Leo Aschberger and Nikolaus Kampelmühler, two students from Upper Austria studying Lightweight Design and Composite Materials. What began in 2022 as a university project to build a carbon fiber ice axe has grown into a mission to make life-saving alpine gear lighter without compromising strength.

The company's first product, the LT SNOW lite, is a carbon fiber avalanche shovel (Lawinenschaufel) weighing 275 g and certified to UIAA 156, the international safety standard for avalanche shovels. Handmade in Austria, it is designed for ski touring, freeriding, and avalanche rescue, and is positioned as the lightest certified avalanche shovel on the market.
