About Us

Two students. One mission: gear that doesn't compromise.

We are LANK Technology — Leo Aschberger and Nikolaus Kampelmühler, two students from Upper Austria with a shared passion for the mountains and high-performance materials. As master's students in Lightweight Design and Composite Materials, we combine technical expertise with years of athletic experience; a former triathlete and professional sailor. This background shapes our understanding of what makes lightweight tools truly reliable.

Our story

From phone cases to alpine gear.

2022

It started with homemade carbon phone cases — a hobby that turned into a university project to build our first carbon fiber ice axe.

2024

We built and tested prototypes on a five-day ski tour. That's when we knew: we wanted to go further.

2025

Start of development of our carbon fiber avalanche shovel.

Today

Today, we manufacture our first product: the LT SNOW lite, a handmade carbon avalanche shovel made in Austria.

Our mission

We took the heaviest gear in avalanche rescue and made it so light, there's no excuse to leave it behind.
