We are LANK Technology – Leo Aschberger and Nikolaus Kampelmühler – two students from Upper Austria with a shared passion for the mountains and high-performance materials. As master’s students in Lightweight Design and Composite Materials, we combine technical expertise with years of athletic experience as a former professional sailor and an avid triathlete. This background shapes our understanding of what makes lightweight tools truly reliable.

Our story began four years ago with homemade carbon phone cases, which evolved into a university project to develop our first carbon fiber ice axe. After building and testing prototypes on a five-day ski tour in 2024, we knew we wanted to go further. Today, we are working on our next innovation: a handmade carbon avalanche shovel, crafted in Austria with a focus on smart design and efficient production.

At LANK Technology, our mission is to make innovative, lightweight gear more accessible to passionate mountaineers. We believe equipment should combine durability, minimal weight, and fair pricing so you can focus entirely on the adventure ahead.
