End of season testing in Bad Gastein

Last week, our team packed up the latest prototype and headed into the high alpine terrain of Bad Gastein. The goal was simple but demanding: put our carbon fiber avalanche shovel through its paces in genuine backcountry conditions and see how our recent design updates held up.

What started as a routine field test turned into a major win. Testing the gear firsthand in deep snow, we confirmed that the newly refined ergonomic handle geometry performed beautifully and the compact pack size is exactly where it needs to be. The shovel's lateral rigidity held up perfectly under demanding conditions, proving that our stability enhancements are dialed in.

By day three, we verified that the shovel delivers maximum strength exactly where the load distribution demands it, without adding unnecessary bulk. Every gram counts when you are moving through the mountains, and ensuring this gear is both highly functional and easy to pack is our top priority.

What’s Next?

The website redesign is moving in parallel. We're documenting this journey - the testing, the iterations, the victories - because we believe our customers deserve to know what goes into building tools they trust. This isn't marketing speak; this is the reality of equipment designed for the mountains.

The winter season may be over, but we aren't ready to stop. Even with summer temperatures climbing, finding those remaining alpine snow patches gave us the perfect window to validate our hard work.

Now, the focus shifts to preparation. Every gram we optimize means less weight in your pack and less burden carrying essential safety equipment. When you're climbing at altitude, that difference compounds - you'll feel the ease on every single ascent.
